Quick Home Staging Tips

If you are like the majority of home sellers looking to put their house on the market, it goes without saying that you are hoping to get your desired asking price and to sell your home as quickly as possible.

According to research conducted by the Home Staging Association, a whopping 100% of property professionals cited that home staging makes it easier for the potential buyer to visualise the property as their future home, with 95% citing that staged homes sell faster than non-staged ones*.

Home staging is a service that doesn’t have to be expensive nor does it have to be time-consuming.

To create said vision, it doesn’t have to include major changes either. A swift declutter or sparkling clean can make a big difference when it comes to attracting buyers.

Did you know de-cluttering, professional photography and entire house cleaning are the most recommended services to help sell*?

Below, I will share with you 10 tips on how to prepare a home for sale and how to take it up a notch:

  • Inspect and Correct: Examine your floors and walls, consider a lick of paint after a colour consultation and make sure to check for creaky floorboards.

  • De-Personalise: You went to the highest of heights to make your home exactly that - yours. But now that you’re trying to sell, keep in mind that not everyone has the same taste.

  • Reflection: Incorporate mirrors - not only do they bring more style to a space but they also make it appear brighter and seem more spacious.

  • Clean and Neutral: Make your bed look inviting by choosing white or neutral linen, a set of clean pillows, plumped up cushions and a chunky throw will give it a 5-star look. Another suggestion is to get crisp, white towels for the bathrooms for that fresh and clean spa-feeling.

These tips can be incorporated by the homeowner or the staging professional.

A home staging professional not only takes property presentation to a whole new level, but they can also assist the seller with sourcing, supply and installation of furniture and accessories, making sure it is prepared at its best for the market.
